About

Timothy currently serves as the Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Marion County.  He previously served Indianapolis as a member of the non-partisan Metropolitan Board of Zoning Appeals, Division I.

Previously from Illinois, Timothy and his wife Allison moved to Indianapolis five years ago, and instantly fell in love with the city. They were married here, bought a house here, and adopted two dogs here. They have “planted their flag” in Indianapolis and are proud to call themselves Hoosiers.Timothy’s activism in the Libertarian Party has ramped up over the past three years. His first campaign for local office introduced him to the local libertarian party. He came into his own during last year’s City Council race where he made a name for himself among the property tax repeal and policy reform circles. That effort landed him a position on the Indianapolis Metropolitan Board of Zoning Appeals, overseeing property issues for a constituency numbering over 880,000.

Timothy and his wife Allison were 2007 Atlas!Liberty scholarship winners selected to attend the Campaign & Elections workshop and seminar in Washington, D.C.

Timothy was born and raised in Joliet, Illinois; and received a music business degree from Western Illinois University, where he was a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity. Both Timothy and Allison were classically trained musicians, and Timothy was a member of the Cavalier Drum & Bugle Corps from 1994-1998. Timothy and Allison are active with their church and Tim is a member of his local Masonic Lodge.

Timothy is a 2006 recipient of the Roy A. Bates Memorial Award (Broad Ripple Masonic Lodge #643), and a 2008 recipient of the Dr. Barbara Bourland Light of Liberty award (Libertarian Party of Indiana).

After working in the music industry for 5 years, Timothy decided to pursue another one of his passions, helping families keep more of their own money. Through a subsidiary of Citigroup, Timothy and Allison show families how to become debt-free and financially independent.

Having worked in the private sector for the past 10+ years, he’s learned what helps make business profitable. These same ideals can be applied to government to make it more efficient. Tim has been studying politics most of his life, and has specific training in the financial industry. Many politicians today have become entrenched, and keep policies and procedures in place simply because it has always been that way. He’s looking to bring fresh, innovative ideas into the mix; ideas that challenge the “business-as-usual” mentality and encourage others to be more fiscally responsible.

Tim, Most Libertarians do not believe that there should be no zoning laws on the books. They believe that zoning laws are only a form of central planning by the goverment. So my Question is how can you sit on Metropolitan Board of Zoning Appeals and believe as most libertarians do on this subject?
And I thank you for your time.
